*Always hold the tile bag at eye level or above and avert your eyes when drawing tiles.
*Always have exactly seven tiles on your rack (until there are no more in the bag).
Always place your letters on the board before, or immediately upon, the moment the timer runs out of sand.
Always count the points on each turn carefully before announcing your score.
Always clearly state and write down the letter that a blank represents before or when announcing your score.
Always announce your score out loud to officially end your turn.
*Always record your cumulative score before drawing new tiles.
*Always inform your opponents when their time is about to expire.
Always check the score announced by your opponents for accuracy when they make their play. Games will not be recounted later - though you can always correct a score if you catch it before the game ends.

Never pronounce, discuss or say the word(s) out loud to your opponents.
Never ask your opponent if they want to challenge a word.
*Never discuss the validity of any word on the board or any word that you might play with your opponents.
*Never draw new tiles quickly before your opponent can issue a possible challenge.
*Never return any tiles to the bag unless you are exchanging letters on your turn. If you have drawn too many tiles, raise your hand and tell a word judge.
*Never speak in an abusive, offensive or confrontational tone to your opponents or the committee.
*Never make use of any dictionary, word list or electronic device during a game.
Never ask a word judge for any additional information about a challenged word.
Never tell your opponents what they can or cannot do during the game. If necessary, raise your hand for a word judge instead.
*Violation of these rules may result in the disqualification of your team.
